Behold the Power of Play

You know you are a super douche when…

you put “the” in front of your name… ever. 

Look, if you give someone your twitter handle and it’s @thefirstnamehere it’s a dead give away you think that the best thing that has ever happened to them is you giving them your twitter handle. And that’s simply not true. That person could have met zooey deschanel at a she and him concert, or given 100 high fives in single day, or ridden a unicorn. And clearly those days all would have been the better than being the tenth girl given a twitter handle at a bar from @thefirstnamehere.

If you must use an article then I suggest using “an” or “a”. It’s just self-effacing enough for me to know that you don’t take yourself to seriously… and that is sexy. Also, @afirstnamehere seems like the kind of guy who I’d want to hang out with and follow on twitter - possible at the same time.

like now. I want to clear three things up:

1) I am not a hipster. I was called one today and I wanted to be be like, “No, i’m just dirty, lazy, was born with this hair, and enjoy flannel, these rolled jeans, my red plastic poker hat, and sperry’s. I just dealt a serious game of Uno, which is why I have Uno cards in my pocket. And how the hell do you drive a car ironically?”

2) I am not an academic. I was called that today too. I am getting a PhD. It’s a choice I made and regret a little. On my best days I am a leader of fun games and increaser of self-efficacy and social skills. On my worst I am a reader of articles and a dropper of the ball.

3) If you ever meet a women who says that she cannot relate to even one Taylor Swift song, she is liar. Call her one. Like her voice, her styling, or her eyes or not, there is not a women on the planet who does not relate to her words. 

I’m glad we cleared all that up!
